Mechanical performance analysis and stiffness test of a new type of suspension bridge

摘要: A new type of suspension bridge is proposed based on the gravity stiffness principle. Compared with a conventional suspension bridge, the proposed bridge adds rigid webs and cross braces. The rigid webs connect the main cable and main girder to form a truss that can improve the bending stiffness of the bridge. The cross braces connect the main cables to form a closed space truss structure that can improve the torsional stiffness of the bridge. The rigid webs and cross braces are installed after the construction of a conventional suspension bridge is completed to resist different loads with different structural forms. A new type of railway suspension bridge with a span of 340 m and a highway suspension bridge with a span of 1020 m were designed and analysed using the finite element method. The stress, deflection of the girders, unbalanced forces of the main towers, and natural frequencies were compared with those of conventional suspension bridges. A stiffness test was carried out on the new type of suspension bridge with a small span, and the results were compared with those for a conventional bridge. The results showed that the new suspension bridge had a better performance than the conventional suspension bridge.

Investigations concerning seismic response control of self-anchored suspension bridge with MR dampers

摘要: To mitigate the seismic response of self-anchored suspension bridges, equations of motion governing the coupled system of bridge- magneto-rheological (MR) dampers subject to seismic excitation are formulated by employing the phenomenological model of MR dampers. A corresponding computer program is developed and employed for studying the seismic response control of a self-anchored suspension bridge with a main span of 350 m. The effect of variable current and number of dampers on seismic response control is investigated. The numerical results indicate the longitudinal displacement of the tower top and bridge girder decrease with the increase in input current and number of MR dampers attached longitudinally at the tower-girder connections, and the internal forces of the tower are effectively attenuated as well. It appears that small electronic current (0.5 A in this study) may sufficiently attenuate the seismic responses for practical engineering applications.

Calculation method on shape finding of self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables

摘要: Based on the spatial model, a reliable and accurate calculation method on the shape finding of self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables was studied in this paper. On the principle that the shape of the main cables between hangers is catenary, the iteration method of calculating the shapes of the spatial main cables under the load of hanger forces was deduced. The reasonable position of the saddle was determined according to the shape and the theoretical joint point of the main cables. The shapes of the main cables at completed cable stage were calculated based on the unchanging principle of the zero-stress lengths of the main cables. By using a numerical method combining with the finite element method, one self-anchored suspension bridge with spatial cables was analyzed. The zero-stress length of the main cables, the position of the saddle, and the pre-offsetting of the saddle of the self-anchored suspension bridge were given. The reasonable shapes of the main cables at bridge completion stage and completed cable stage were presented. The results show that the shape-finding calculation method is effective and reliable.

Limit span of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension cooperation system bridge based on strength

摘要: The limit span of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension bridge is deduced. The relations among the geometrical parameters, loads and material characteristics are also analyzed. Based on the material strength and commonly used materials, the limit spans of self-anchored cable-stayed suspension bridges with concrete girder or steel girder under vertical static load are discussed in detail. The corresponding upper limit spans and the effect of the factors on the span are given. The results indicate that increasing rise-span ratio, height-span ratio and cable-stayed segment length or reducing the second dead load could increase the cooperation system span.

基于结构危险性分析方法论和管理科学的量化管理,将悬索桥风险管理细化为单元层次上的标准化巡检养护管理子过程,通过定义该单元巡检养护的全部内容以及特殊事件和特殊维修的管理策略,实现了基于风险管理的跨海悬索桥养护管理,同时还介绍了基于风险管理的养护管理系统的组成。

泰州大桥是世界上首座超千米的三塔两跨悬索桥,主跨为2×1 080 m,中塔采用纵向“人”字形、横向门式框架型钢塔,边塔采用门式框架型混凝土塔,加劲梁为扁平流线型钢箱梁结构,全桥共136片钢箱梁,总重约33 426 t。通过分析钢箱梁吊装顺序对结构体系和施工难度的影响,确定了三塔悬索桥合适的钢箱梁吊装顺序。

2007年12月开工建设的泰州大桥位于江苏省中部,连接泰州与镇江,为世界首座千米级三塔连跨悬索桥,同时中塔采用世界首个纵向人字型钢塔,中塔基础采用世界上入土最深的水中沉井基础。为了建造这项宏伟的工程,针对众多技术挑战,建设者采取了一系列的创新技术:三塔悬索桥的设计技术,江中大型深井的定位着床、封底技术,人字型钢中塔的钢混结合连接技术、超厚钢板的焊接加工技术以及钢中塔异型节段的精确加工与控制技术等。

Improvement of aerodynamic stability of suspension bridges with H-shaped simplified stiffening girder

摘要: Wind-tunnel study on the improvement of aerodynamic stability of simplified suspension-bridge girder structures was conducted with using a 1/40-scaled section model. Objective of the study is the development of an economically superior suspension bridge with 500–1,000 m center span length. The wind-tunnel test showed that an edge-girder type cross section exhibited large amplitude torsional vortex-induced vibration as well as torsional flutter at a low wind speed. Accordingly, aerodynamic countermeasures of open grating deck and triangular faring, and structural countermeasures of center stay, diagonal bracing and mass increase were tried to improve the aerodynamic stability. Finally, feasibility of the best combination to a full-scale bridge was examined by structural analysis.

Dynamic response of a long span suspension bridge and running safety of a train under wind action

摘要: A dynamic analysis model of a wind-train-bridge system is established. The wind excitations of the system are the buffeting and self-excited forces simulated in time domain using measured aerodynamic coefficients and flutter derivatives. The proposed formulations are then applied to a long rail-cum-road suspension bridge. The dynamic responses of the bridge and the train under wind action are analyzed. The results show that the lateral and rotational displacements of the bridge are dominated by wind, while the vertical by the gravity loading of the moving train. The running safeties of the train vehicles are much affected by wind. Under wind conditions of 30 40 m/s, the offload factors, derail factors and overturn factors of the train vehicles exceed the safety allowances, to which great attention should be paid.

阐述了桥梁结构危险性分析的方法论,根据危险性分析服务对象和目的,确定了跨海悬索桥结构危险性分析的内容和方法。在总体危险性分析层面确定需要控制的桥梁结构风险,在单元危险性分析层面确定如何对这些风险的控制,同时将特殊事件和维修等因素也纳入危险性分析,保证了桥梁生命周期内所有风险的无遗漏分析和控制。

Aerodynamic stability evolution tendency of suspension bridges with spans from 1000 to 5000 m

摘要: Aerodynamic instability owing to aerostatic and flutter-related failures is a significant concern in the wind-resistant design of long-span suspension bridges. Based on the dynamic characteristics of suspension bridges with spans ranging from 888 to 1991 m, we proposed fitted equations for increasing spans and base frequencies. Finite element models of suspension bridges with increasing span from 1000 to 5000 m were constructed. The structural parameters were optimized to follow the fitted tendencies. To analyze the aerodynamic instability, streamlined single-box section (SBS), lattice truss section (LTS), narrow slotted section (NSS), and wide slotted section (WSS) were considered. We performed three-dimensional (3-D) full-mode flutter analysis and nonlinear aerostatic instability analysis. The flutter critical wind speed continuously decreases with span growth, showing an unlimited approaching phenomenon. Regarding aerostatic instability, the instability wind speed decreases with span to approximately 3000 m, and increases when the span is in the range of 3000 to 5000 m. Minimum aerostatic instability wind speed with SBS or LTS girder would be lower than observed maximal gust wind speed, indicating the probability of aerostatic instability. This study proposes that suspension bridge with span approximately 3000 m should be focused on both aerostatic instability and flutter, and more aerodynamic configuration optimistic optimizations for flutter are essential for super long-span suspension bridges with spans longer than 3000 m.

基于ANSYS的悬索桥分析方法研究

用于悬索桥分析的专用程序和通用程序均有其局限性。基于ANSYS平台进行二次开发,主要着眼于鞍座的模拟、顶推的实现、主缆和吊索的无应力长度确定、无应力长度保持不变的方法,并给出润扬大桥算例予以验证,使得用ANSYS分析悬索桥具有了专用程序的精度和通用程序前后处理方便的特性。

Fatigue stress monitoring and analyses for steel box girder of Runyang Suspension Bridge

摘要: The monitoring of fatigue stress of steel bridge is a key issue of bridge health monitoring and safety assessment. This paper aims to find out the strain history features of the girder components of Runyang Suspension Bridge (RYSB) under vehicle and environmental loading during its first year of service based on the strain-history data recorded by structural health monitoring system installed in the bridge. The fatigue stress spectrums of steel box girders under normal traffic load, heavy trucks and typhoon loads were studied as well as the correlation between varying strain and temperature based on real-time monitoring of temperature histories. The results show that, monitoring on local strain in health monitoring systems of RYSB can effectively provide the information on fatigue stresses. The range of the equivalent fatigue stress on the monitoring location of the bridge is currently low, mainly due to varying traffic loading and temperature. There exists significant correlation between varying temperature and mean value of fatigue stress. Effect of the passing of heavy trucks on bridge fatigue is quite significant since the value of the cumulative fatigue damage generated by heavy trucks is 10 to 100 times larger than that by normal traffic. Therefore, the effect on fatigue cumulative damage due to heavy trucks or overloaded vehicles needs to be monitored and paid much attention to.

New practice in semaglutide on type-2 diabetes and obesity: clinical evidence and expectation

摘要: Obesity is an important risk factor of type 2 diabetes (T2D), which has become an important factor threatening human health. However, no perfect drug choice for obesity exists. Semaglutide is a kind of human glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analog that promotes insulin secretion while inhibiting glucagon secretion through a glucose concentration-dependent mechanism. GLP-1 can also delay stomach emptying and suppress appetite to help lose weight. This review summarizes clinical evidence of the semaglutide effect on T2D and obesity and establishes expectations on future clinical trials for obesity treatment.
